Baby Room:
What is the nap schedule?
We know that every child is individual, and parents work around personal schedules. Therefore, when you start, you will have a "settling in" session or two, and that will be the time to fill in some registration and information forms. Also talk to the nursery nurses in the baby room, it is a really good time to exchange information about your child and let them know any specifics likes/dislikes or ways of doing things that works for your child. Basically, we try to maintain the routine that your child is in, and emulate it as much as possible at nursery. Activities for the youngest children, such as messy play, arts and crafts, story time, is acommodated around your child, and is felxible in terms of time that it takes place.
My son naps 3 times a day at the moment but I think by December( he will be 8 months) he will nap only in the morning( around 9) and afternoon ( around12).
That will be fine, we have cots, soft beds, and baby bouncers, just let us kow when you come what your child usually has in terms of sleeps.
Do you usually change their clothes for nap times ( into sleepsuit)?
We don't normally change their clothes as such, but if you would like to bring in a sleepsuit and something for your child to wear that will be no problem. Again, just let Vicki (manager), Donna (Deputy Manager) Tina (Team Leader) or Emma, Lauren or Sarah (Nursery nurses) know.
Secondly do you provide any meals?
We provide snacks in the morning and afternoon (usually fruit, milk, something savory, a little malted milk bicuit as a sweet etc). We provide lunch for children under the age of one, after that, you the option to either provide packed lunch or a hot lunch from our menu.
What is the feeding schedule?
In the baby room, this is again loosely based times, worked around your own child's schedule. Snack times are 930Am and 230pm or thereabouts, and lunch at about 1140. It is not a poblem to alter these if your child eats at different times.
Do I need to bring the formula with me?
If your child is still on formula milk, you will need to bring this pre prepared (powder and water seperate, or can be premade), when you bring it to nursery, it will be kept in the fridge until it is needed.
Do I need to bring bowl and cups for him?
We have supplies for food/drink, however, if you would like a specific bottle/beaker etc you are more than welcome to bring these in,however, please make sure they are properly labelled!
What else should I bring with me?- bedding maybe or towel?
A change of clothes or two are always useful, a juice cup if you want, nappy cream, any dummies or favourite blankets (make sure the child's name is on all these things).
